“How to Install a Roofrail Weatherstrip”
A roofrail weatherstrip is used on hardtop car. This means that there is no post or the door has no frame around the window. If you have a frame around the window then you have a sedan car and your door weatherstrip will take care of the upper part of the door. Now let’s get down to business. Let’s remove the old one. These are glued in usually so the best way is to go from one end to the other and try to get something in back of the roofrail weatherstrip like a screw driver or something to cut the glue away. After that it’s cleaning time.
Thing You Will Need To Clean the Roofrail Weatherstrip
You will need some weatherstrip adhesive cleaner, and some weatherstrip adhesive glue “black”, a teeth brush or small stiff brush a wooden paint stirrer, phillips screw driver, the roofrail weatherstrip pair and some rags. There is two ways to do this depending on how much you need to clean or how good you want it cleaned the cleaner the better. First way, clean the track on the car and the second is to take the track that holds the roofrail weatherstrip in down for proper cleaning. It’s a little extra work but easier to clean with a better job. To get the track that hold the roofrail weatherstrip down there is usually some philips head screws that attaches the channel to the roof. After cleaned put back on the car.
